3 Days Camel Trekking in Merzouga: Itinerary

Day 1: Merzouga → Camel Trek at Sunset → First Night in the Camp
We meet you in Merzouga in the afternoon. You leave your big luggage in a safe place, take a small bag for two nights and meet your camel and your guide. The caravan sets off into Erg Chebbi and, after a stop on a high dune to watch the sunset, reaches the camp in the blue light of the evening. Mint tea, a traditional dinner and Berber drums around the fire welcome you to your first night in the Sahara.
Day 2: Camel Trek to the Oasis → Lunch under the Palms → Back to the Camp
Wake up for the sunrise, have breakfast at the camp and climb back on your camel while the air is still cool. The caravan travels across the dunes, far from any road, until the green palms of the oasis appear between the sand. There you rest in the shade with mint tea and lunch, take a nap, walk in the little gardens and enjoy the quiet of the hottest hours.
In the afternoon, when the heat goes down, you ride back across the dunes to the camp, arriving in time for the sunset. Your second evening is calm and familiar: dinner, music, the fire, and a last long look at the stars.
Day 3: Sunrise Camel Ride → Breakfast → Return to Merzouga
Watch your second sunrise over the dunes, have breakfast at the camp and ride back to Merzouga in the fresh morning light. You collect your luggage and continue your journey, or add a jeep, quad or buggy tour before you leave.

No. The camels walk slowly and your guide leads them. If you get tired, you can walk next to your camel for a while.
Do we sleep in the same camp both nights?
Yes. You come back to the same camp after the oasis, so you only need to unpack once.
Is it cold at night in the desert?
In winter, nights can be very cold, so bring warm clothes. The tents have blankets. In summer, nights are warm.
